Embody a VR bartender in a hyper-stylized, high-energy intergalactic nightclub. Experiment with the extraterrestrial ingredients and make cocktails that fit the flavor profile for each customer’s mood. Shake the cocktail shaker and pick up ingredients using VR controllers. Make sure to enjoy the funky music in the background while you work!
This game was a solo development project for an end-of-semester course final project. I wanted to create a high-energy and dynamic game concept while catering to a more casual, non-competitive gaming audience. Thus, Stellar Oasis was created as a VR bartending game that emphasizes fun and style over realism. Inspired by games such as VA-11 Hall-A and Plate Up!, I wanted to create short and sweet moments of engaging gameplay combined with stylized visual storytelling.
For the prototype, the customer avatars were developed in Blender. Interactions were coded using Unreal Blueprints. Background music was produced in Ableton Live. Stellar Oasis will continue to be developed after the semester ends, in order to add in more interactions and characters.
